Pricing your service

A test price, not a promise.

Your AskDavey price is an illustrative starting point for one defined package. It is not a verified market rate, an income forecast or a quote you have to use.

Where the number comes from

AI-generated drafts

AI proposes a focused service based on your skills, experience, customer and delivery preference. It suggests a price and lists assumptions about the scope. There is no single fixed formula and no live market-price lookup. Review the assumptions in your plan rather than treating the number as evidence.

Starter planner

The Starter planner multiplies estimated package hours by an illustrative hourly rate, rounds to the nearest $5 and uses a $10 minimum. Package estimates range from 2 to 8 hours, depending on the service; an unrecognized skill uses 5 hours.

Turn the draft into a real offer

  1. 01

Choose one customer and one problem

Ask a few potential customers what is difficult, what they already use and what a useful finished result looks like.

  2. 02

Put a boundary around the work

Specify deliverables, quantity, timeline, revision rounds, what the customer must supply and what is not included.

  3. 03

Check time, costs and comparable offers

Include preparation, communication, revisions, tools and fees. Compare 3–5 similar listings with similar scope; a cheap listing may not include the same work.

  4. 04

Write down the terms before starting

Agree on scope, price, payment timing, cancellation and how extra work is charged. Check any local licensing, insurance or tax requirements that apply.

  5. 05

    Test a small paid package

Show a sample, send your message and invite a conversation. Record questions and objections without promising outcomes.

  6. 06

    Measure and revise

Track actual hours and costs, get feedback and adjust scope or price before quoting the next customer. Leave room for work that is not billable.
